Once you join the community and purchase your membership, you’ll apply to the community forums and events. Our app is trans-only, and this simple but telling application helps us keep the community protected. From there, you’ll be encouraged to give an introduction in our channel made just for intros so you can get to know community members right away. 

Yes! You pay for a month in advance, but if you cancel before your monthly subscription renews, you will not be charged again. The vast majority of members stay for more than 3 months, but you’re free to cancel any time. 

This matters a lot to us – if our community doesn’t trust that we really are a trans-only community, then we won’t last. We’ve focused a lot of attention on this, and we asked ourselves before we even launched the community: “can we make this safe enough to be worth people’s time?”

Below are some of the protocols and features that protect the community.

• Every member has to apply before they are allowed to join the forums, live events, or even see other member profiles. These applications are then approved or denied by real trans folks (our trusted moderators). If we are unsure, we reach out to the member to ask more questions. 
• We have a team of moderators that flag suspicious activity and let us know of any rumblings in the community. Members also reach out to us or flag posts when they feel like they break community guidelines.
• We have community guidelines that we monitor closely, and the community usually flags bad content within minutes – before we even see it.

Since founded in 2025, we’ve had 50o+ members join with no “fakers” or “chasers” joining in the process. 

Yes! But there is a catch – only the new members that are ready to connect with the community make friends. If you make an introduction post and/or go to a live group session ASAP, you’ll be sure to make friends right away. After 7 days, new members that engage are confident they have another trans person to lean on. 

Absolutely! This community is a learning community for those undergoing gender transition. We respect the entire trans umbrella and have members of many different gender identities. Beyond Non-Binary, we also have members that identify as two-spirit, transfemme, transmasc, genderqueer, and even unsure/exploring. Everyone has the right to an identity that fits their experience, but we do require that members fall under the trans umbrella in one way or another. 

Disco is the community platform we host Transgender Zone on. They provide us enhanced security and advanced features as a young company. You’ll create a Disco account as a part of joining the community. Disco is to Community Platforms like WordPress or Squarespace is to Websites – it’s a hosting platform that let’s us have large databases, DM features, and so much more.
